Cat Beds

Cats spend a good portion of their day sleeping. They are quite adept at finding the most comfortable place in the house and falling asleep, even if it means inconveniencing their human hosts. So it is now wonder that there are so many cat beds available on the market. The cat bed you choose may be as unique as your cat.

If you have very young kittens, an elderly cat, or live in a cooler climate, heated cat beds are a good option. A heated cat bed may have a removable disc that can be heated and inserted, it might reflect the cat’s heat, or it may have a heating unit that runs on batteries or plugs into the wall.

Cat igloo beds double as a place for your cat to hide and a place to take a nap. Some cats prefer the security of a cat bed that is totally enclosed.

Your cat may prefer a luxury cat bed that features a special type of cushion. A luxury cat bed may have a down pillow or therapeutic cushion for your cats enjoyment. Unique cat beds may come in fun shapes such as a mini sofa. Of course, the ultimate in luxury cat beds, is your furniture.

Cat beds can be purchased from cat bed dealers at stores or online. For cat beds, cat and dog pet supplies stores are often the best option. You can also purchase cat beds from an independent supplier. Cat bed patterns can range from prints featuring cats to classic designs that will blend in with your décor.

If you prefer, you can design your own cat bed. Cats often prefer the cushions, pillows, and furniture of their owners. Incorporate these features in designing your own cat beds, or plan on surrendering your favorite easy chair to the cat. Experiment with a variety of materials and shapes to find the style that your cat likes best.

Cat bed wetting is not normal, and should be addressed by a veterinarian immediately. To stop your cat from wetting the bed, start with a full vet check up to rule out any medical problems. If it is a medical condition, your veterinarian can recommend treatments to solve the problem, ranging from medications to changes in diet. Then thoroughly wash the cat beds in an enzymatic cleaner to eliminate any urine smell. Follow litter retraining procedures, and once your cat is using the litter box again you can reintroduce the cat bed.
